The results are shown for best alignments over all values of \(\alpha \) and all neighborhood sizes, for a–c three network pairs with known node mapping (yeast–yeast 5%, yeast–yeast 10%, and yeast–yeast 15%, respectively) and d–f three network pairs with unknown mapping (human–yeast, human–worm, and worm–yeast, respectively). Percentages represent the scores achieved by an alignment quality measure. For equivalent results for the remaining network pairs, see the Additional file 1: Figures S1–S2 and S8–S10.
